A Spot of Fishing (ASC) (In Progress)

I was working on a new story and I found this short segment of unfinished text. I don't know why I didn't finish writing it back then, but I'm putting this here so that I can remind myself later to continue where I left off. I think this was supposed to be a very chill comic script. Honestly, I could use a good story of funtime hot weather fish'n chill adventure in these somewhat cold November days.     Ah yes, the new story I was working on... I haven't written anything in a while and I forgot how to write, basically. It'll soon come back to me, though. The story is about, well let me just post the explanation here instead of putting it in the story post that will be here in this website later:    "This story is based on a post-apocalyptic setting. I haven't decided what should be the exact cause of this aftermath. In time, I'll come to a conclusion. Until then, I'm rolling with whatever my mind and the dice tell me to write.    ...

Halloween Update, Sort Of... (27.10.2017)

Image
Hello. I'm still around, but I'm not really feeling like writing any short stories or playing home-brewed roleplaying text games, at least not at the moment.    I've been playing DF Halloween event for a while and finally got my character the total halloweeny look. I think it looks fabulous.    So, the update part. I don't know. I'm too lazy to do something that requires actual work. But midterms are closing in and I'm looking for an escape route from the stress of not studying until the last day. So I might get myself into a survival roleplay game-story-thing soon. That's all. Not dead yet. Have a nice Halloween.

Map Layout Simulator (First Attempt)

Image
My Map Layout Simulator:    I wrote this program to teach myself how to use timers and panel arrays in Java. Then I realized how much potential it has. Right now this program has a completely random way of generation of a dungeon map layout, but I can add a few ground rules later and make it more useful. I only view it as a doodling machine.    Usually the generated image doesn't make any sense at all, but sometimes you can see better outcomes. This was not intended, I'll fix it later.    I added the timer because it looks cool, like the program is drawing the map similar to a timelapse video, only with much less plan and purpose.    The link to MLS.jar in my drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0DjHXOtDLTAcnZaVjVEQTA4U2c/view    Here are some of my fine looking example runs:

A Segment of Story

I was bored and unoccupied, this happened. Here you go, some story: Note:   It started pretty seriously but after a while I got bored and thought how would 'the inept 'Asther'' do in this situation, rather than the usual character. So the latter half will probably get completely cropped out. Edit (May 3, 2017):   I haven't forgot about this place. I'm quite busy but I hope I can find time to write something new and fun. Sincerely, Ecrys. ---    Caalmarc 17, 3E338       The winter had passed, but left a hardly recoverable damage on the fields of Galandreim. Most of the crops died from the cold and snow, and soon after that, many farm animals and wildlife starved to death. Small settlements have suffered with hunger and most of the gathered food went to the city of Daegnon.       The land would fully recover in a month's time, stronger and better than before. As for the wildlife, it might take a little longer. People o...

The Irony (Minecraft (SS))

For something that has a heart of iron, it's not so iron-hearted it seems.

GG: Dungeons: Vardeth Research Facility (Room 1 Story)

I've designed a new Survival & Dungeon Crawler roleplay game concept and I'm currently testing it. It is quite fun, but too slow and a little complicated. Here is the first stage of fourth era Clydia's playthrough of the game. The first room is always the safe room, so it is not as random as the others, but still very random. Almost everything down there is the product of dice. Hope you enjoy the story. Who knows I might even continue this one, unlike everything else I've created so far.    I haven't written anything in months. Feels different...    ---    <<Clydia...>>    ...       <<Clydia!!>>    You abruptly wake up from a dreamless sleep. Yet the scenery you face the moment you woke up feels eerie, unreal. You are blinded by a flickering flourescent white light. This is not your house in Althorm. Where are you?    You get up, and after a mild dizz...

My Own 8-bit Register In Minecraft

Image
Tonight I made an 8-bit register in Minecraft, instead of studying for the final of Digital Logic Design. There may be a much easier and shorter way of building a register in the game, but I didn't bother searching for it.  I was busy listening to a recorded stream.   It currently holds the information "0001 1010" in it.     When I flip the "Write Enable" switch, the lights are lit according to the input wall at the bottom of the image, after a clock cycle.    So this is the summary of my Saturday night occupation...

My Skyrim RP Character Generator

This is an example from my Skyrim RP character generator. It's a bit all over the place and not really good by itself, but still, it helped me shape a lot of characters.    The program creates a complete sheet, but you have to copy it into a word file or something.    There is a random name hint for the character, but that's only good for me.    There is a line named 'Class' in the sheet. I fill that spot with whatever my character resem-bles, like a Battlemage or something. You don't have to.    There is a 'Text' assigned to the moral compass, if you want, write e.g. Chaotic Neutral there.     I think that's all... Download it from here if you want it, it's a jar file:    SCG2 Drive Link (Dec 11, 2017)   Edit:   I fixed the download link. Apparently, I didn't make it public, because I'm stupid. I don't use the blog anymore but I noticed that this post has gotten some atten...

My Torchlight II RP Character System

First of all, this post is completely unnecessary and useless. Literally useless because it lacks skill trees, a clear enough explanation and the required random number generator. I'm just posting it because I have nothing left to do, for now, nothing interesting...    This is my Torchlight II random RP character creating system. Although it doesn't really explain completely how to properly create a character, it definitely works for me.    Also, Torchlight II is a great game to listen to podcasts / audiobooks while playing. ---    These are some example character sheets: (Dianne) (Staff) (0 x 1 x 2 x 1) (All) - Actives: // Active - Elemental Boon (Frost 4) - Thunder Locus (Storm 3) - Ice Prison (Frost 6) - Immolation Aura (Inferno 6) // Buff - Astral Ally (Frost 7) - Passives: // Passive - Charge Mastery (Inferno 1) - Staff Mastery (Frost 1) - Frozen Fate (Frost 2) // Trash - Pr...

GhostlyGame (Ecrys Ealvor) (Old Logs) (Abandoned)

GhostlyGame (Ecrys Ealvor)    Another one of my old GhostlyGame notes, this one is for the young Ecrys (Age 17) and it is kinda silly. This is a very short scribble and I don't know why I'm putting this here but here we go, enjoy this 'thing' if you can:  --- Reminder: Date:   Luneea 26,  3€335  (Monday) Time:   (08:28) Location:   Ealvor Estate / Daegnon / Galandreim Ealvor Estate: (08:28)   You wake up from a terrible dream to find yourself lying on the ground…    Ecrys:   “Ugh! … What the hell? Where am I?”    You are in an oak forest, lying on a grass field. You have no idea how you got here.    Ecrys:   “Damn, the headache… Have I got drunk or something?”    ???:   “You’d wish that was the case, my friend. Also, I believe these are yours:”    You get startled by the thin voice, once you turn right to face the source of the voice, you ...

GhostlyGame (Aldren) (An Old Playthrough)

So... This is the first GhostlyGame log that was recorded on a computer. It doesn't have any of the game mechanics displayed, I edited them out like I did for the GG2 logs.    The story is long, and on (mostly) second person narrative, like the old choose your path adventure games. I enjoyed playing this game more than I enjoyed playing its successor, GG2. But it is too complicated to just leave around for a couple of weeks and return later, and it takes too much effort in exchange for a nice bit of story.    I'm posting every single story log in Aldren's logs, so this is going to be a very long post to read. If anyone is willing to read this, don't try to read it all at once, it's just not worth the time. I'm going to read it, and update / fix some grammar / vocabulary issues, when I have the time. This story is at least a year and a half old, and my English is still very flawed.    Enjoy Aldren's original story, from an abrupt start in...
