GhostlyGame (Ecrys Ealvor) (Old Logs) (Abandoned)

GhostlyGame

(Ecrys Ealvor)

Another one of my old GhostlyGame notes, this one is for the young Ecrys (Age 17) and it is kinda silly. This is a very short scribble and I don't know why I'm putting this here but here we go, enjoy this 'thing' if you can:

Location:   Ealvor Estate / Daegnon / Galandreim

Ealvor Estate:

(08:28)   You wake up from a terrible dream to find yourself lying on the ground…

Ecrys:   “Ugh! … What the hell? Where am I?”
You are in an oak forest, lying on a grass field. You have no idea how you got here.
Ecrys:   “Damn, the headache… Have I got drunk or something?”
???:   “You’d wish that was the case, my friend. Also, I believe these are yours:”
You get startled by the thin voice, once you turn right to face the source of the voice, you see a goblin in front of you. He hands you your satchel, your backpack and your belt with your sword and other equipment.
???:   “Name is Dunvar, Dunvar Bow, I’m your new boss now.”
With an increasing confusion, you reach to your belt to grip the handle of your sword… oh, but you got nothing. At that moment you realize that you are stripped out of your weapons and supplies. Dunvar takes a step back with caution.
Dunvar:   “Easy now… Let me show you what happened.”
He whips out a circle device that looks like a compass and throws it on the ground. The device falls on top of grass, two feet in front of you. The little mechanism clicks and a hologram of you appears, lying face down on the blooded ground, the hologram winds the time faster and you see the sunlight disappear slowly. Then two stranger and Dunvar himself comes and picks you up.
Ecrys:   “I don’t remember this, what kind of a joke are you pulling now?”
   Dunvar:   “Quit your mumbling, watch…”
After the two strangers hold you, they bring you to a giant factory with a portal, store you in a chamber, then the time winds faster as you heal gradually, then you are released from the chamber, you look still dazed, with a portal they bring you to where you currently stand. They leave you and you sit on the ground, still in the effect of some sedative. You decide to lay on the ground and sleep the fatigue off. Half an hour later, you wake up and you say:
Ecrys:   “Ugh! … What the hell? Where am I?”
Dunvar shuts the device with a remote, and takes it off the ground and chucks it in his bag.
Dunvar:   “I had to stop the play before it came to the part the machine plays itself again, it causes a paradox and eventually the machine blows up, creating a small time warp… Anyways, what was I saying, yes… You work for me now, Ecrys Ealvor.”
Ecrys:   “Dude, I didn’t understand a thing. Did I die and come back or something?”
   Dunvar:   “Yeeaaah, kinda like that.”
   Ecrys:   “So I owe you?”
Dunvar:   “No, you can still walk away but think of the opportunity, Ecrys.”
   Dunvar starts roaming around.
Dunvar:   “You’re not going to do this the rest of your life, I’m offering you good work with good payment, I just need qualified bodies and you seem to fit in that category. I don’t like wasting opportunity, you know… Also, this estate will be yours to shape, … Ealvor Estate! Owned by Ecrys Ealvor, the Dunvar Corp. employee.”
Ecrys:   “Me, damn, really? OK, I’m giving it a shot.”
Dunvar:   “Oh, I thought you would resist the temptation. Spectacular. Your shift starts this Monday… Oh wait, it is Monday…”
Ecrys:   “Wait… What happened to my friends, and my old squad?”
Dunvar faced you, pulled a teleportation remote from his bag and tossed it to you. You catch the remote and inspect the device, but you don’t know what to do with it.
Dunvar:   “Use the damn thing with caution. You can wander around a certain range and  be careful about its battery, once it runs out, it reassembles you in the middle of the transportation. Focus your mind and choose a place to teleport, it will open a portal. Or just command it something.”
Dunvar opens a portal with his own remote and says his last words to Ecrys, well, for now:
Dunvar:   “Once you go visit wherever you want, hit the big blue button, it is in the remote itself, you have to open the hatch with a command. It will teleport you to the designated home point. Once you see my quarters, you won’t need the blue button again, but until then, don’t change the assignment on it. Otherwise I will have to find you, again…”
Ecrys:   “OK! See you there, then, boss…”
(08:39)   The portal disappeared along with Dunvar. You were left alone in the field. Sun was shining in the horizon, you did a full round turn around you to see and inspect where you actually are. But you got nothing, it was completely strange, but still, likeable…
Ecrys:   “So this is the new “Ealvor Estate”, cool…”
You look at the device on your hand, and see two sharp metal diagonal poles and some high tech design parts that you don’t really understand.
   Ecrys:   “Soo… device… open a portal to… umm…”
   A portal appears.
Ecrys:   “Whoa, I didn’t even pick a place yet.”
You take a closer look at the portal. It is a translucent veil of reality and you can see the other side of it. On the other side, you can see Dunvar looking at you.
Dunvar:   “Back so soon? Or you couldn’t manage to use the damn thing?”
The voice was blurry and hard to hear.
Ecrys:   “Yeeaah, the second one. OK, bye…”
The portal closes as soon as you want it to close. Then you think of Daegnon and want your portal to open there, … and, success! The portal opens there…
Ecrys:   “Good lords above, where have you been all my life!”
You dive into the portal to find yourself on the other side. You are actually in Daegnon! People are looking at you surprised, somebody with a big grin on his face who came out of a portal that has appeared and disappeared quickly.
Some people recognized you and looked shocked.
   Ecrys:   “Hi! I’m back…”
   …
(23:34)   Some time passes as you fool around with the portal device, see your friends, squad, war comrades, eat food, have fun, etc. etc., then suddenly, the machine starts to beep. The battery is low. There is a silencing option, but you feel disappointed and worried. But then it teleports you back to Dunvar’s base, safely.
Dunvar came out of a dim lighted room with a cup of coffee on his hand and a (tiny) rich man's night dress on him.
Dunvar:   “You really need to set your settings to the office. This is my quarters,  Ecrys, and it is the middle of the night.”
Dunvar came closer and realized the red alert lights on the device.
Dunvar:   “What the hell, man, you depleted the battery in one day?”
Ecrys:   “Yeah, sorry, must have forgotten that.”
You take a look around the place with an admiration, red velvet carpets, tapestries, high ceiling, red light chandelier, fireplace, mahogany table… damn… he is rich…
While you are looking around, inspecting glasses and display cases and such, Dunvar goes to fill up the battery. He comes a few minutes later with a full and extended battery remote and gives it to you.
Dunvar:   “It charges in time normally, if you use it properly, there won’t be a problem. You can sleep downstairs in the VIP employee quarters for now, but you have one week to sort yourself out a place in your estate, Ecrys.”
You leave him to his night time and find the employee quarters. There is no one but you, so you pick a room and settle in.
   …

Reminder:
Date:   Luneea 27,  3€335  (Tuesday)
Time:   (08:12)
Location:   Dunvar Corp. Quarters
---
(08:12)   After having sleep and breakfast, you find the business quarters and see Dunvar and some other people in the great hall. He introduces you to one of his assistants, Vex:
Dunvar:   “Ecrys, this is your superior, Vex, she is my personal assistant on task distribute and she will help you maintain your tasks. Currently you have no standing tasks. You have a temporary office two floors down here, number 273, you will receive and control tasks there… I leave it to you now, Vex.”
Vex smiles at you, she is a human slightly older than you, in a blue velvet woman's business suit, with her nicely cut white hair.
Vex:   “Yesterday’s task is on your desk, Ecrys, after you inspect it, find me.”
You leave there without saying a word.
---
// Intro is over, rest of the steps are part of the game, technically…
---
(08:28)
Dunvar:   “Okay, enough bullshit, Ecrys, here is your first task, enjoy!:”
---
Ischard, The Corrupted Lightwarden
“He is in one of the Daegnon’s council chambers, eliminate him. This is a low profile contract, if he escapes, you will lose the majority of the reward.”
---
(08:30)
After looking into the file, seeing an illustration of him and reading the contract, you teleport to Dunvar and ask him how to begin this.
You tried to teleport into his room, but the portal only showed the big mahogany doors of Dunvar’s office. After you step into the portal and find yourself in front of the doors, with no one around, you knock the right door three times and wait… A distant voice answers:
   Dunvar:   Come in!
You twist the door knob and walk inside the office. Dunvar is sitting across the fireplace, the fire is just been lit. Inside of the long large hall is still quite cold. Dunvar is in his olive green night robes, which makes his greenish skin look even darker than it already is.
Dunvar:   Ah, Ecrys, how can I help you?
   You ask, quite bluntly,
Ecrys:   Oh, well, I was supposed to begin this assignment-
You raise your hand holding the file. Dunvar looks a little off.
Ecrys:   When and how do I start doing it now?
Dunvar’s face returns to normal with relief.
Dunvar:   Vex is your supervisor Ecrys, she will take care of managing you and your department. Find her.
Ecrys:   Oh, that’s right, my bad… Umm… Where is she by the way.
Dunvar sighs and opens a portal in front of her office.
Dunvar:   There you go, good luck, oh even better, wait, let me check it.
Dunvar scans you with an awkward device and gets an information file on the device’s monitor, then mumbles as he reads your ‘character sheet’
Dunvar:   Hmm, nice, nice, I see, well, go on then.
You walked into the portal, not questioning Dunvar’s actions. You knocked Vex’s door and entered after her permission. She gave you three options:
Stealth: Strike at night by yourself
Ambush: Strike at night with two other employees
Barge In: Strike as soon as possible with three other employees
(2):   You decide to Ambush your target, she gives you the files of your two other companions and commands you to be at the B5 entrance at 8 p.m. You then leave her and rest until that time.
---
(08:36)
You leave Vex’s office. As a newcomer, this huge place is easy to get lost in. You follow the signs to find your way to the resting hall. You encounter many different faces throughout the day.
You spent your free time by wandering around, exploring the great corporation center. Also, sleeping, lunch and dinner. Water is free, there are fountains everywhere, and food is cheap in the cafeteria. You have your own quarter to sleep and work in.
   (12:58) (Eaten: Almost Burned Pheasant)
   (Drunk: Water)
You have a small lunch by eating a small portion of a rather huge pheasant that you roasted, along with some water. You leave the rest in a small ice runed purse to keep it fresh.
(13:42) You have gone to sleep.
   (16:51) You wake up.
   (16:57) You have some water.
(18:47) You eat some more pheasant as dinner and have some water with it.
   (Eaten: Almost Burned Pheasant)
(18:50) You take a small nap before you depart.
(19:50) You wake up and have a glass of water.
(19:51)
You leave your temporary office and head to the B5 Entrance, by now you are already - sort of - used to the system that works here in Dunvar Corp.
(20:00)
You get to the B5 Entrance at the exact moment the clock hits 8 p.m.
Sun has gone down and sky is filled with faded orange tinted dark blue colors. This entrance was poorly hidden amidst the forest that surrounds the Dunvar Corp. Facilities. A wide pathway winded into a valley that is only a tad lower than the forest itself. A carriage was waiting on it. Two battle ready people, who you assumed to be your coworkers and Vex herself were standing next to that carriage.
   Vex noticed you approaching.
“Here you are.. Well, let’s take one last cover up of the plan before you depart.”
Two coworkers; one on the left was an old intimidating man, the other was a middle aged tall woman. Both had quivers of spears and daggers that hung onto their belts. Both looked southern and both talked southern.
As a very inexperienced young boy, compared to them, you approached with a slight worrying grin on your face:   “Umm, hi! I’m Ecrys.”
Man reached out for a handshake: “Phawl.”. His voice was deeper than you though it would be, considering his old age. But those southerns… You shook his hand.
“Quel” said she with a soft elegant voice, then shook your hand.
“Now, the council disbands at around less than two hours later than now. You will stalk him to his resident and ambush him there. Be sure to not get him suspicious. He probably has a couple of lightwardens along with him, you have to take care of them as well. Hunt for a clue when you deal with him. Or torture him for the information if he is still alive. If we can get even a faint idea of who the bigger fish is, we’ll be onto great profit.”
She continued after a moment of silence: “Do not fail. Alright, move on now. You have to reach there before he leaves the council chambers and settle into your positions.”
She leaves you and your two companions to depart.
While small chatters ran around once in a while in between you three, the fact that none of you had the slightest idea of one another caused an awkward journey on the carriage, for almost one and a half hours.
You finally reach the gates of Daegnon at nightfall. On the first sight, guards interrupted your visit in there, with the two other looking and essentially being foreign. But left you alone to wander into the streets after a few warnings. They didn’t know who you are but you didn’t look different from regular folk of Daegnon, given that you lived in this city throughout whole your life…
No poor soul was out this late on the main street, except the occasional pairs of patrol guards… Three of you made your way to the alleyway past the statue where you plan to ambush Ischard. Moonlight shone upon you, the streets were bright tonight. You have found your way near the entrance of the council rooms. Two guards stood by the gates of the castle, two other guard was on patrol, pacing left and right along the street. Quel whispered with a disturbed tone:
Quel:   What if there is another exit? What if he looks different than his portrait they given us. I don’t feel good about this.
Phawl:   Then we’ll have our alibi, be calm and alert. Spy the entrance…
You psyched yourself up for trouble and watched the street as he was hiding around a corner. The other two was strategically separated into other stalking spots.
(21:24)   A spark of light, a lantern… Three tall men with the youngest in the middle appeared behind the guards. They were moving on a rush.
“Have a good night, sir.” The gate guard greeted the younger man.
The young man nodded his head and moved on with his two other companions. Hastily walking on the street, they didn’t notice any of you.
Those orange pulsating eyes were too obvious to miss. ‘That’ was definitely your target. You gave each other signs to inact movement. As the gate guards disappeared from reach, you looked for a point to strike upon the target.
