Story Log (QVMZ) - Vale of Lethvarz

This is the story log of the next contract location, Vale of Lethvarz.
This is a work in progress, every three day or so a new segment will be added, hopefully.
This time I will focus on writing slow and beautiful, more like a proper story, but this is slowing my gameplay progress. So I don't want to get into the details of peaceful parts that much. I still want it to stay as a highly glorified combat sheet, but to set the ambience I will write parts that are not relevant to the game itself, to just increase the taste, but I won't necessarily bother justifying the path which the game draws me to follow, or the undying will of the main characters to move on or help others. Because that is not how adventures work...
Not that anyone reads this;
Have a nice day...

Previous Adventure:   (Great Oak Outpost)
Story Begins Here:

   More than a week passed after Quaelyn, Vaineras, Marcelle and Zagraine made their way to the city of Talon's Reach. Great oak outpost of the Veklorean forest was stationed with the next squad of watchman the next morning, after the patrol party found out about the purge and the deceased were taken back to the hold to be buried in the morning. In the later days, results have turned in the favor of Dunvar Corp. as a small conflict started brewing between two members of the human pact of Treamor. Since there isn't any visible proof to make valid accusations, this incident was simply put on the shelf after five days passed. That was when two giant crystals from outer space came down and crashed onto the Vale of Lethvarz, which lied in a three days distance on horse from Talon's Reach by the main route heading south-west.
   After eight days of delay in the city of Talon's Reach, the mercenary group have travelled to the Vale of Lethvarz. Several contracts with the same memo had came from city states around the vale. All of them were talking about the rumors of spreading plague and corruption after the disaster had struck. Most people refused to intervene, since the plague was new and the grim stories spread fast. Stories of people and animals turning into eldritch beings, feasting on every living thing, wailing in terror at night...

Vale of Lethvarz
---
   Almost five days passed since they left Talon's Reach. Quaelyn, Vaineras, Marcelle and Zagraine crossed the mountain passage of the vale on a coach. They had to stop for night's rest and food in three different settlements along the way, for them and for the horses, which extended their route.
   Once they crossed the passage, a winding pathway descended down into the valley... From where they stood, they could see most of the damage that the land have suffered in a week's time.
   The valley itself looked like a misshaped bowl and the purple taint that corrupted it spread without any pattern or order. Wherever the effected flora or the fauna had spread, the plague had spread along with it.
   The city of Izheborth spanned from the center of the walley to the west of it, where the Rook's Nest and the barrow stood. The city itself was large back then. But the Rook's Nest, city's keep collapsed down under a chunk of the crystal that had broken into two pieces in air. The other chunk have crashed onto the barrow, just south-west of the Rook's Nest, where the dead lied for centuries. This wasn't the only crystal though, another one, much bigger in size and in one piece, had crashed a few miles east of the city entrance.
   The coach moved down the winding road with a moderate speed. The four mercenaries were chattering, mildly disturbed after seeing the complete overlook of the land, confirming the unsettling speculations roaming in their minds.
   As the road took them lower and deeper into the valley, the sparse treelines had an increase in the tone of purple and after a couple of minutes, the grass and trees were colored thick purple. The coach driver warned them to not eat anything or touch anything more than a minute. The taint was also in the soil, the ground absorbed the green poison and the water drawn from the ground was also effected, which caused the fast spread of the taint amongst plants and animals that eat them.
